Why use an insole?

Although sport is good for your health, some sports and activity can have a deleterious effect on the body if practised without care. So, be careful! Running, in particular, is not dangerous, quite the contrary. However, the risk of injury is a reality that 80% of runners have already experienced. Why is this? Not least because with each stride, with each stance, our foot has to bear 3.5 times our weight.

Rebecca Rodger, Clinical Lead at The Sidas Clinic notes: "Blisters, overheating and haematomas under the nails, traumas directly affecting the foot, knee and Achilles tendon pain are the most recurrent."

She therefore advises insoles in a curative role, to accompany the remission of an injury, but also in an anticipatory role, to avoid a relapse. Healing and prevention, thanks to the insoles. "We are really in a logic of anticipation of the numerous microtraumas that the body stores with each stride. Our aim is to minimise the impact of shock waves. To avoid short-term pathology and to be able to devote oneself to one's passion in the long term, not to be obliged to put away the trainers at the age of 40!" The expert, who has seen the feet of great champions pass through her hands, nevertheless reminds us: "Our claim is not to solve a problem or correct a stride, but to provide a comfort solution to help prevent injuries."

How do Sidas insoles work?

In order to prevent injuries, improve comfort, increase performance and provide real added value compared to traditional insoles, our running insoles have been designed as a real technological package.

All our ranges dedicated to running therefore provide:

  • Comfort and cushioning thanks to the EVA pad located at the heel, which absorbs shocks and thus protects the various joints. Also, the anti-slip and anti-bacterial Merrymesh covering greatly reduces the risk of overheating.

  • Stability and support of the foot since the arch of the foot is perfectly supported by the 3D shell. This shell also offers a perfect distribution of pressure zones so that all the muscles of the foot are mobilised in equal measure, thus avoiding over-use of any of them, which could lead to a risk of injury.

  • The natural rolling of the foot is supported by the medio-foot reinforcement, also in EVA.

  • Dynamism with the optimisation of the propulsion faculties in the forefoot.

Can I wash my insoles?

Yes, you can wash your insoles.

  1. Remove the insole.
  2. Wash with soap and a brush. DO NOT machine wash.
  3. Do not dry on a radiator or tumble dryer. Allow to air dry or for better, quicker drying use our shoe dryers.

What size insoles do I need?

You can find our insole size guide here.

However, if you find yourself between sizes, size up to the larger size.

Which arch height should I go for?

Will insoles help with Plantar Fasciitis?

Our insoles are designed to help ease the symptoms of common foot and lower limb conditions such as: Plantar Fasciitis, Fatigue, Achilles tendonitis, Pronation/supination instabilities and Back and knee pain.

A well cushioned insole such as 3Feet original or 3Feet Activ' will help with these symptoms.

If, your pain persists please consult a podiatrist.

3Feet Trail or Run Protect?

The 3feet Run PROTECT insoles are designed for runners looking for stability and cushioning.

Stability is provided by a TPU midfoot reinforcement for better control of the stride, as well as by the heel cup, which, like the seat of a chair, accommodates and envelops the back of the foot
The cushioning and comfort are based on the presence of gels in the heel and pads in the forefoot, allowing better dissipation of shock waves.

They are favoured by runners with a high risk of injury: beginners; those with weaknesses or recurring pain; and ultra-distance runners taking part in ultra-endurance events.

The primary benefits of PROTECT running insoles are therefore comfort and protection of the foot, regardless of the terrain, even if it is uneven, especially when the length of time of effort is prolonged.

3Feet Trail is all about grip and securing the foot inside the shoe, more specifically on uneven terrain.

There is a grippy heel pad which grips the sock. This grip is increased if used with Sidas Grip Yarn inside our Run range of socks.

3Feet trail also have grippers between the shoe and insole along the sides and under the forefoot.
